Tony Award-winning Hedwig and the Angry Inch creator and star John Cameron Mitchell has signed an exclusive deal with the soon-to-launch podcast platform Luminary for his upcoming musical podcast series Anthem: Homunculous, according to the New York Times.

Based on a subscription model similar to Netflix, Luminary will curate content found on other platforms, in addition to exclusive podcasts from Lena Dunham, Trevor Noah, Queer Eye’s Karamo, Omari Hardwick, and The Advocate.
Free podcasts will be available, while $8 monthly ad-free service with exclusive content will also be offered. Luminary is set to launch in June.
In exchange for the exclusive rights, Luminary is offering creators a sizeable up-front sum and is investing in the development and production of their work.
Anthem will focus on unique American stories from neglected corners of the country. Each episode will pair a new a songwriter and a storyteller.
