The next entry from the R&H Goes Pop! series, featuring Broadway stars taking on new, pop-infused covers of classic Rodgers and Hammerstein showtunes, has dropped. The classic writing duo meets contemporary musical theatre writer Jason Robert Brown as Laura Osnes and Jeremy Jordan, stars of Cinderella on Broadway and The Last Five Years on screen, respectively, perform a mashup of Cinderella's "Ten Minutes Ago" and The Last Five Years' "The Next Ten Minutes."
This release follows Jordan's solo cover of "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'" from Oklahoma! (watch here). The full series was previewed earlier this year at BroadwayCon with a cabaret event that featured performances from Osnes, Derek Klena, Lilli Cooper, and more.
Osnes, a two-time Tony nominee, most recently took on the role of Marguerite in a concert presentation of Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton's The Scarlet Pimpernel; in addition to Cinderella, her Broadway credits include Bandstand, Anything Goes, South Pacific (another R&H staple), and Grease.
Tony nominee Jordan recently completed the run of American Son on Broadway, with earlier credits that include Newsies, West Side Story, and Rock of Ages. He is perhaps currently best known as Winslow on the CW's Supergirl.
Osnes and Jordan also starred each other on Broadway in the title roles of 2011's Bonnie & Clyde.
