Stage and screen alum Joshua Jackson will star in Mark Medoff’s Tony-winning Children of a Lesser God at Berkshire Theatre Group. The production, directed by Tony winner Kenny Leon, will run from June 22 through July 22 on the Fitzpatrick Main Stage at the Massachusetts venue.
Jackson, whose credits include The Affair and Off-Broadway’s Smart People, will take on the role of James Leeds. He will be joined by former Miss Deaf America Lauren Ridloff (Wonderstruck) as Sarah Norman (a role that won Phyllis Frelich a Tony Award and Marlee Matlin an Oscar), John McGinty (The Healing) as Orin Dennis, and Stephen Spinella (Angels in America) as Mr. Franklin.
Plans for a Leon-helmed Broadway revival of the 1979 play from producer Hal Luftig were announced in 2014; it was set to open in the 2015–16 season. Playbill has confirmed that Luftig is still attached to the Berkshire production.
