Tony winner Idina Menzel will return Off-Broadway to star in the world premiere of Skintight, the newest comedy from Significant Other playwright Joshua Harmon. The Roundabout Theatre Company production will begin performances May 31, 2018 ahead of a June 21 official opening.

Skintight reunites Harmon with director Daniel Aukin, who helmed Bad Jews at Roundabout in 2013. Menzel has been been a part of the development of the play—which was commissioned by Roundabout—since its first reading in early 2015.

Menzel will play Jodi Isaac, a divorcee with a 20-year-old son who discovers her famous father is in a relationship a with Trey, who’s also 20, and possibly gay. And possibly an adult film star. “Skintight assays the nature of love, the power of attraction, and the ways in which a superficial culture persists in teaching its children that all that matters is what’s on the inside,” read production notes from Roundabout.

Harmon’s newest work will play at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre through August 26, 2018. Further casting will be announced at a later date.
