Amber Iman, who recently concluded a year-long run in the national tour of Hamilton, will make her New York City solo concert debut April 9 at 7:30 PM at SubCulture.

The concert melds Iman’s onstage work in shows such as Shuffle Along and Soul Doctor, with her work off stage as a founding member of the Broadway Advocacy Coalition.

Iman will “delve into the complexity of being black, bold and fierce in America. Using personal stories and songs, she takes the audience on a journey through love, rejection, race, artistry and heartbreak in a performance that ultimately uplifts and reminds us that we have the capacity to move forward from any setback.”

Iman premiered the show in Los Angeles earlier this year. Matt Gould, the award-winning co-creator of Witness Uganda, is Iman’s music director.

SubCulture is located at 45 Bleecker Street in the Greenwich Village section of Manhattan. Tickets for the 8 PM show, which cost $50, can be ordered here, or via phone at (212) 533-5470.
