The world premiere of the new musical Sincerely, Oscar opened at Theatre Row April 4 after beginning preview performances March 28. Written by and starring Doreen Taylor, the show celebrates the life, music, and legacy of famed lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II.

Sincerely, Oscar features a book by Taylor and direction by Dugg McDonoug. As well as showcasing over 30 of his greatest songs from shows like The Sound of Music, Show Boat, Oklahoma!, Carousel, and South Pacific, the production incorporates Hammerstein's personal correspondence, unpublished lyrics, interviews, and rare memoirs. Azudi Onyejekwe (The Great Comet) co-stars alongside Taylor and a hologram of Hammerstein II.

Sincerely, Oscar features scenic design by Jason Simms, lighting design by David Pedemonti, costume design by Dawna Oak, sound design by Robert Balan, and projection design by Brittany Merenda. Lou Lanza is the musical director and arranger, and Joshua Godoy did the string arrangements. The production is general managed by Brierpatch Productions.
