Dear Evan Hansen, about one student's struggle for identity amidst the chaos of high school, features a score by the Oscar and Tony-winning songwriting team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dogfight, A Christmas Story), a book by Tony winner Steven Levenson (Masters of Sex), choreography by Danny Mefford (Fun Home), and direction by three-time Tony nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal, If/Then).

Original cast members Laura Dreyfuss, Tony winner Rachel Bay Jones, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Tony nominee Mike Faist, Michael Park, and Will Roland are all currently still performing in the musical. Phoenix Best recently took over from original cast member Kristolyn Lloyd in the role of Alana.
