Tony winner Daveed Diggs will team up once again with his Blindspotting co-writer and star, writer-poet Rafael Casal, for a 5th session of the BARS Workshop at The Public Theater this summer. The BARS lab is a space for artists to investigate and develop their craft at the intersection of contemporary verse and theatre, with participants using the workshop to write, develop and explore work that utilizes verse including music, poetry, rap, and heightened language.

The workshop is founded and facilitated by Casal and Diggs. Ten artists will be chosen for the summer series, which will be held four evenings a week, Tuesdays through Fridays, at the Public.

Workshops, which will feature a cohort of 10 multi-hyphenate artists, will be held 5–9 PM, July 9–August 2. Click here to apply, applications close May 27.
