The evening will also include performances by Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Bebe Winans and Nita Witaker, who worked with Long on Winans' new bio-musical Born For This, which premiered at Arena Stage in 2016.

A native of North Carolina, Long’s recent work is also the subject of an exhibition at Charlotte’s Mint Museum, chronicling his stage productions and television projects from 2007–2016. The exhibition includes sketches, swatches, mood boards, and the actual costumes from the Broadway productions of Grey Gardens, Curtains, Young Frankenstein, 9 to 5, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Cinderalla, Big Fish, and On the Twentieth Century, as well as his work on the live network television broadcasts of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Grease, for which he was nominated for an Emmy.
