Tony Award nominee Marin Ireland (Reasons to Be Pretty) will reprise her critically-acclaimed performance in the Geffen Playhouse production of playwright Martyna Majok’s Ironbound, which will run January 30–March 4, 2018.

Tyne Rafaeli will direct the Los Angeles premiere that opens February 7.

Ireland created the role of Darja, a determined Polish immigrant trying to make ends meet in America, in the 2016 Off-Broadway production of Majok’s play. Critics praised Majok’s gripping writing, as well as Ireland's complex portrayal that spanned more than 20 years in the central character's life.

Chris Messina (The Mindy Project, Argo) will play Darja’s boyfriend Tommy, one of three men in her life.

Additional casting will be announced.

One of the top ten plays on the 2014 Kilroys List, the world premiere of Ironbound was produced by Round House Theatre in Washington, D.C. as part of The Women’s Voices Theater Festival. The New York premiere was presented by Rattlestick Playwright’s Theater and Women’s Project Theater.

Majok’s Cost of Living, about the ways in which abled and disabled bodies meet each other, was produced Off-Broadway by Manhattan Theatre Club earlier this year. Her latest work queens will be produced Off-Broadway by Lincoln Center Theater in early 2018.
