Tony Award winner Mary-Louise Parker returns to Broadway this fall in Pulitzer Prize finalist Adam Rapp’s The Sound Inside, a suspenseful new drama involving a tenured profession, a talented student, and a troubling favor. Watch the newly released trailer here.
Following a 2018 world premiere at Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Sound Inside will begin previews September 14 at Studio 54 ahead of an October 17 opening night. Tony winner David Cromer (The Band’s Visit) directs.
As previously reported, Parker will reprise her performance as Ivy League professor Bella, reuniting with Will Hochman, who makes his Broadway debut as Christopher, a talented yet mysterious student who becomes entangled in Bella’s life when she faces a troubling challenge.
The production, which marks Rapp's Broadway debut as well, will feature sets by Alexander Woodward, costumes by David Hyman, lighting design by Heather Gilbert, sound design and original music by Daniel Kluger, and projections by Aaron Rhyne.
Jeffrey Richards produces the Broadway engagement with Lincoln Center Theater (which commissioned the piece) and Rebecca Gold.
