The world premiere of A Walk With Mr. Heifetz imagines the moment after famed Russian violinist Jascha Heifetz performed at a concert in pre-Israel Palestine in 1926.
Legend has it the musician had a conversation with Yehuda Sharett, composer and brother of future Israeli Prime Minister Moshe Sharett, which would inform an important conversation with the leader 20 years later. The new play by Time Magazine journalist James Inverne began performances January 31 at the Cherry Lane Theatre.
The Primary Stages production is helmed by Artistic Director Andrew Leynse. He directs a cast made up of Adam Green (Venus) as Jascha Heifetz, Yuval Boim (Two Thousand Years) as Yehuda Sharett, and Erik Lochtefeld (Small Mouth Sounds) as Moshe Sharett. Violinist Mariella Haubs performs live music onstage.

Opening night is set for February 20; the limited run is scheduled through March 4.
