Austin Scott and Nicholas Christopher will take over the respective roles of Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr in the national tour of the hit musical Hamilton when it begins performances January 6 in San Diego, California.
Scott has been seen Off-Broadway in One Day, while Christopher previously played George Washington in the Broadway production of the Lin-Manuel Miranda musical. He currently stars as John in the Broadway revival of Miss Saigon.
They succeed original tour stars Michael Luwoye as Hamilton and Tony nominee Joshua Henry as Burr. Luwoye is bound for the Broadway production, where he will succeed Javier Muñoz in the title role, while Henry is set to star as Billy Bigelow in the Broadway revival of Carousel this spring.
The cast will also welcome Julia K. Harriman as Eliza Hamilton, Sabrina Sloan as Angelica Schuyler, and Chris De’Sean Lee as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson.
Hamilton launched its first national tour last March. A second national touring company will launch in Seattle this February. Sit down productions currently run on Broadway, as well as Chicago and London.
The cast also includes Rubén J.
