This October, for a strictly limited engagement, Tony Award® winner and Broadway legend André De Shields opens the doors of the House of the Redeemer to only his most devoted disciples for a decadent spectacle. Within an historic Upper East Side mansion rarely opened to the public, De Shields and his ensemble invite just 100 guests per night to a sumptuous evening of ritual and revelry inspired by Molière’s notorious deceiver, Tartuffe.

SYNOPSIS:

Orgon, the head of a prosperous family, has taken in and been taken in by Tartuffe, a man who purports to be holy, but is really a fraud. Orgon and his mother are the only ones to have fallen under the trickster's spell – the rest of Orgon's relatives, including his wife and brother-in-law, see right through Tartuffe.
