By Ken Ludwig
Director/Fight Choreographer: Ian Borden

ROBIN HOOD (Male Identifying, Any Ethnicity, 20s-30s) Affable, charismatic, humorous, passionate. On a journey from entitled youth to altruistic man. Falls in love, loses his innocence, and discovers his calling to service. Must have excellent stage combat skills.

MAID MARIAN (Female Identifying, Any Ethnicity, 20s-30s) Smart, confident, funny, bold. She is NOT a damsel in distress. A fighter for truth and justice. On a journey from innocent, plucky girl to strong woman navigating a man’s world. Must have strong combat skills.

FRIAR TUCK (Male Identifying, Any Ethnicity, 30s-50s) A jovial clergyman who fights corruption and is generous of heart and spirit. He is our narrator throughout the story, our eyes into the world of Sherwood Forest. Must have strong combat skills.

LITTLE JOHN (Male Identifying, Any Ethnicity, Late 20s-30s). Very tall/large person. Can be a gentle giant or an intimidating fierce foe. Not the brains of the group, but definitely the heart. Finds his people, falls in love with Deorwyn, and fights for justice. Must have strong combat skills

DEORWYN (pronounced “Deer-win”) (Female Identifying, Any Ethnicity, Early-Mid 20s) A young woman avenging the terrible treatment and eventual murder of her father. Tough, determined, and brave on the outside - very scared and lonely on the inside. Finds a new family while united in the fight for justice. Must have strong combat skills.

PRINCE JOHN (Male Identifying, Any Ethnicity, Late 20s-40s) A greedy, cowardly and corrupt Royal who uses his position to exploit others. He is extremely pretentious, self-absorbed, and out of touch with the average person. Some stage combat.

SIR GUY OF GISBOURNE (Male Identifying, Any Ethnicity, 30s-40s) Enforcer for Prince John. Ambitious, conniving, arrogant, cruel, dangerous, relentless. Has charisma and a wicked charm. On a mission to destroy Robin Hood, possess Marian, and be the right hand of Prince John. Must have excellent stage combat skills.

THE SHERRIF OF NOTTINGHAM (Male Identifying, Any Ethnicity, 20s-40s) The sheriff follows the law regardless of if it's unjust or not. He is dim-witted and often the butt of jokes and gets tangled in his own attempts at villainy. He is Sir Guy’s yes man. Must have strong combat skills.

ENSEMBLE (2 Male Identifying, 1 Female Identifying, Any Ethnicity) Various citizens, guards, and peasants. Seeking adventurous and transformative performers who are apt at embodying and creating distinct characters that enrich the world of Sherwood.
