Rate of Pay:
AEA Rate of Pay: $769.00/week (Single Engagement Agreement through URTA). Plus $35/Day Per Diem AND $25/Week Media Rider.
Non-AEA Rate of Pay: $650/week
Transportation and Housing provided for both AEA and Non-AEA Actors.
Please note that not all roles here will be cast with AEA Actors. There are tracks for Non-AEA or EMC candidates as well. Please note that Non-AEA Actors submitted for roles not specifically outlined as Non-AEA may still be considered for a Non-AEA contract. If unwilling to work Non-AEA, please make note in your submission.

[JACK KELLY] He/him. Tenor. 20s. Any ethnicity. An orphaned dreamer and artist, Jack is the magnetic and strong leader of the Manhattan newsies—bold, street-smart, and fiercely independent. His vulnerability and care for the Newsies guide his moral character. Strong actor-singer with confident movement/dance ability.
[KATHERINE PLUMBER] She/her. Mezzo-soprano. Any ethnicity. 20s. Ambitious reporter trying to make her own name in a male-dominated world. Quick-witted, compassionate, and confident. Strong actor-singer. Movement ability is a plus.
[JOSEPH PULITZER] He/him. Baritone. 40s - 60s. Any ethnicity. Powerful newspaper tycoon and father of Katherine Plumber. Confident, calculating, and commanding businessman. Strong actor-singer.
[MEDDA LARKIN] She/her. Alto. 30s-50s. Black / African-American. Vaudeville performer and star of the Bowery. Caring, strong presence, and fights for justice. Offers her theater as a safe haven for the Newsies.
[CRUTCHIE] NON-AEA. He/him. Tenor. 18+ to early 20s. Any ethnicity. The heart of the resistance, Crutchie is Jack’s loyal best friend with a huge heart and a sharp sense of humor. He has a physical disability he intelligently uses to his advantage. Strong comedic timing and emotional honesty.
[DAVEY JACOBS] NON-AEA. He/him. Tenor. 18+ to early 20s. Any ethnicity. The brains of the resistance, Davey starts as an outsider and grows into a leader of the Newsies. Thoughtful, principled, and intelligent. Strong actor-singer.
[SPOT CONLON] NON-AEA. He/him. Baritone. 18+ to early 20s. Any ethnicity. Tough, confident leader of the Brooklyn newsies.
[NEWSIES] NON-AEA. Mixed ranges. He/him & they/them. 18+ - Mid 20s. Any ethnicity. Gritty hard-working paperboys who take a stand for justice. Strong singing, high-energy dancing, and storytelling through movement required. Featured singing/acting moments throughout the show. May also cover roles.
