SEEKING:

[JACK KELLY] He/him. Tenor. 20s. Any ethnicity. An orphaned dreamer and artist, Jack is the magnetic and strong leader of the Manhattan newsies—bold, street-smart, and fiercely independent. His vulnerability and care for the Newsies guide his moral character. Strong actor-singer with confident movement/dance ability.

[KATHERINE PLUMBER] She/her. Mezzo-soprano. Any ethnicity. 20s. Ambitious reporter trying to make her own name in a male-dominated world. Quick-witted, compassionate, and confident. Strong actor-singer. Movement ability is a plus.

[JOSEPH PULITZER] He/him. Baritone. 40s - 60s. Any ethnicity. Powerful newspaper tycoon and father of Katherine Plumber. Confident, calculating, and commanding businessman. Strong actor-singer.

[MEDDA LARKIN] She/her. Alto. 30s-50s. Black / African-American. Vaudeville performer and star of the Bowery. Caring, strong presence, and fights for justice. Offers her theater as a safe haven for the Newsies.

[CRUTCHIE] NON-AEA. He/him. Tenor. 18+ to early 20s. Any ethnicity. The heart of the resistance, Crutchie is Jack’s loyal best friend with a huge heart and a sharp sense of humor. He has a physical disability he intelligently uses to his advantage. Strong comedic timing and emotional honesty.

[DAVEY JACOBS] NON-AEA. He/him. Tenor. 18+ to early 20s. Any ethnicity. The brains of the resistance, Davey starts as an outsider and grows into a leader of the Newsies. Thoughtful, principled, and intelligent. Strong actor-singer.
