DESCRIPTION

Time’s Fool Company, a non-profit professional theatre company based in Wethersfield, CT is seeking union and non-union performers for its outdoor, August 2026 production of The Winter’s Tale by William Shakespeare.

Pay starts at $442/week. Contract dates are July 14th - August 16th. First rehearsal July 14. First performance August 5th. Closing August 15th.

Time’s Fool is looking for local to Hartford and CT performers only with their own transportation as housing is limited.

Rehearsals are typically nights and weekends to accommodate local artists' work schedules.

The role of Leontes is cast at this time.

We are seeing performers for the following roles:

Hermoine/Bohemian/Clown as Cast female identifying, age 30-55

Paulina/Time/Autolycus, female identifying, age 30-55, excellent singer and musician.

Polixines/As Cast, male identifying, age 30-55

Mamillius/Perdita, female identifying, age 20’s

Camillo/As Cast, any gender, any age

Florizel/Lord(s), male identifying, 20’s

Antigonus/Shepard, any gender, any age

All performers will need to be comfortable singing as music plays a large role in Time’s Fool Company’s productions, as well as Bridgerton-esque dance. All performers will be expected to work foley sound effects when not on stage, and operate puppets. Our practice is to use no recorded music in our productions.

This is an outdoor production.

To submit for a role, please submit electronically videos for a slate and two contrasting classical or verse based monologues, one of which must be from Shakespeare. Send submissions to [email protected] . Please put the role submitting for in the subject line.

Include headshot, resume, and in your slate state where you are located (housing purposes), that you understand this is an outdoor production, and how well you can sing.

Callbacks will be in-person at a later date (TBD) using sides. Please submit all materials by April 28th 2026.
