DESCRIPTION
Walnut Street Theatre's Professional Apprentice Program provides a training ground for early career professionals to bridge the gap between education and the professional world. This is an incredible opportunity to be part of America’s oldest theatre and gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. Our apprentices are immersed in our upcoming season, and receive professional development, mentorship, and performance opportunities.
The Professional Acting Apprentices:
- serve as the Touring Outreach Company, performing a three-show repertoire and bringing hundreds of short educational shows to schools
- are cast in a mainstage WST for Kids Series show (A Christmas Carol)
- understudy two additional WST Mainstage Productions
- are able to engage in teaching artist work
- grow from supplemental performance and development opportunities, such as New Play Readings and Gala Performances
All Apprentices receive unlimited free theatre school classes for their duration of contract. Ultimately, you come away from the Acting Apprenticeship with professional connections, extensive experience, and 6 resume credits. This is a full time position with a weekly scholarship stipend from August 31, 2026 - May 28, 2027!
Should you be invited to audition for the apprenticeship, auditions will take place on May 30, 2026 from 11 AM - 5 PM. In-person attendance is mandatory if you wish to be considered.
