DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of all production and technical needs for Peterborough Players 2026 Summer Season of 4 plays, 1 musical, and various additional events.

Pre-season, part-time virtual work creating production calendar and participating in meetings as needed for pre-season planning. Additional stipend provided.

Schedule
- Create and ensure adherence to the production schedule, detailing rehearsals, performances, changeovers, technical rehearsals, etc.
- Oversee all aspects of production execution (design, build, load-in, load-out, light hang, costume fittings and maintenance, stage preparation, and sound installation)
- Plan and supervise show changeovers (24hrs between closing of matinee to start of tech)
- Coordinate and conduct regular production meetings and disseminate information to the production team as necessary

Budget
- Develop the season production budget (and show-by-show budgets) and ensure adherence throughout summer, prioritizing timely expense tracking
- Purchase/rent equipment and materials as necessary
- Supervise staff with purchasing powers

Staff Management/Leadership
- Manage summer production staff
- Regularly review rehearsal and performance reports and coordinate execution of scenic notes in a timely and efficient manner
- Participate in hiring of summer staff
- Work with the Artistic Director + Managing Director to provide essential information for contracts for designers and production staff
- Create contact sheet for all productions
- Provide timely and accurate production staff + company information to the Director of Marketing, including, but not limited to: Name, Title, Bio, etc
- Maintain a safe workplace and ensure that safety rules are followed in the theater
- Perform other related production work as required

Transition creative vision into execution
- Participate in design review for feasibility of construction and budgetary standpoint
- Work with creative teams to develop a vision that works within the time + budget constraints of a summer stock theater
