Production Electrician
Little Island seeks a Production Electrician to join the Artistic Programming team. In this role you will be responsible for supervising the installation, operation and maintenance of lighting elements for a variety of multi-disciplinary events and performances, working with the repertory design team and project-specific designers to translate lighting design drawings into complete working systems.
A successful Production Electrician will be a flexible team member with a passion for supporting artistic needs, strong problem-solving skills and experience in entertainment industry electrical work. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, prioritizes safety and values hospitality in all aspects of their work. This position is governed by Little Island’s collective bargaining agreement with IATSE Local One and reports directly to the Production Manager.

Hourly Rate: $41.00
Job Type: Temporary
Employment Classification: Begins as Part-Time and shifts to Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule Expectations:
January – June 2026: the schedule will be primarily administrative work conducted remotely. Anticipated average of 2-4 hours per week, ramping up in mid-May.
June - Late July 2026: the schedule will include frequent day time, evening, overnight, holiday and weekend shifts. Anticipated average of 40-50 hours per week.
Late July – Early September 2026: schedule flexible based on needs of programming and candidate. Anticipated average of 20-30 hours per week available.
Mid-September 2026: the schedule will include frequent day shifts, averaging approximately 40 hours per week.

What You’ll Do
Work closely with the Production Manager, project-specific designers and other Artistic Programming personnel to ensure the successful execution of the technical requirements for a variety of events.
Generate all required paperwork to ensure successful execution of lighting design.
Supervise shop prep, ensuring that equipment is prepared according to designer specifications.
Collaborate with both repertory and show-specific design teams on technical execution of lighting system design.
Oversee the load-in of lighting equipment into Little Island’s venues, ensuring that work is conducted in a safe manner.
Collaborate with other departments to solve technical problems that arise during load-in.
Troubleshoot electrics equipment as required.
Collaborate on interdepartmental projects during load-in and tech.
Work with design team during technical rehearsals to adjust lighting system to meet artistic goals.
Adhere to Little Island’s safety protocols and actively contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Perform other duties and tasks related to the park and its artistic programming operations as assigned.
What You Bring
Relevant lighting experience, including demonstrated proficiency in programming, safe rigging practices and general lighting system troubleshooting techniques.
Experience with Lightwright and Vectorworks, especially as it relates to creating paperwork for shop prep.
Familiarity with setup and networking needs of both EOS and MA lighting consoles.
Familiarity with GroundControl followspot operation and maintenance is a plus.
Strong interest in working in public performance settings where guest interaction is a regular component of day-to-day production activities.
Knowledge of aerial lift operation (including scissor lifts and articulating boom lifts) is a plus.
A commitment to fostering camaraderie and excellence by proactively collaborating and problem-solving across departments.
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. overhead for sustained periods.
Comfort with safely ascending and descending ladders.
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
