Production Assistant – Broadway Red Carpet & Live Events
Location: New York City

Position Overview
Built Productions delivers high-profile Broadway red carpet openings, premieres, private events, and live productions throughout NYC. We specialize in technical builds including carpets, step & repeats, staging, audio, and lighting, often collaborating with Broadway union crews.

We are seeking experienced, reliable Production Assistants to join our team. This is a physically demanding, field-based role requiring technical awareness, hands-on skill, and the ability to operate professionally under tight timelines. This is not a desk job. Candidates must demonstrate prior live event production experience and a strong work ethic.

Must be able to commute to and from our shop in East Williamsburg. Events are concentrated in peak spring (March–April) and fall (October–November) seasons.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Build and install step & repeat frames, graphics, and backdrops (prep, transport, on-site install).
• Facilitate with roll out, tape, cut, fit, and secure red carpets and event flooring to press-ready standards.
• Load/unload trucks; assemble/dismantle pipe & drape, light stands, staging; run/tape cable; complete full strike.
• Assist with small-to-mid scale audio and lighting setup; support speaker deployment, microphones, fixture placement, and basic troubleshooting.
• Operate professionally in Broadway union venues while respecting jurisdiction boundaries and chain of command.
• Maintain organization of gear, tools, vehicles, and inventory; protect company assets.
• Driving box trucks and audio/lighting experience are a plus but not required.

Required Qualifications
• Verifiable live event, theater, touring, technical production, carpentry, or general handyman experience (preference given to candidates with production and event history). Candidates with equivalent hands-on experience are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work long shifts.
• Valid driver’s license (box truck experience preferred but not required).
• Basic audio and lighting knowledge is a plus.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, extended hours.
• Professionalism in high-profile, fast-paced environments.
• Preference given to candidates able to confirm strong availability during peak spring and fall event seasons.
