We’re looking for an Actor/Comedian/Improviser/Director with a passion for teaching! This is the right job for someone with a big personality, as well as strong communication, and time management skills to direct YouTube short films, with kids ages 5-13 in our after school program!

With 1.7 million subscribers on YouTube, Applause New York has been a top YouTube Kids channel churning out viral comedy shorts and episodics for over a decade. We’re looking for the next big teaching star to lead classes, engage and inspire our students, and not only helm the direction of these shorts, but make the kids stronger actors in the process!

The brand’s vibe is old school Nickelodeon! You will be working with short film scripts that are both precocious and genuinely funny. We’re looking for someone to bring high energy, comedic instincts, and a natural ability to lead a group of various level kid actors through the process of making a film while infusing your own passion for movie making. To understand the style of teacher we are looking for: think Jack Black’s character in School of Rock—but instead of a concert and teaching music, it's a film and teaching acting through the creation of a movie!

Rates start at $35 per class (classes are 1 hour with minimal prep needed) with opportunities for hourly and class growth. Classes take place weekly at our Upper East Side film location during weekday afternoons (After-school) and Saturday mornings. We are looking to place directors in at least 2 classes per week to start, possibly more.
