CASTING CALL: Seeking non-union, NYC-based performers for a 25-minute excerpt of a new play Jungle Restaurant, to be presented Off-Broadway at SoHo Playhouse as part of their Lighthouse series.

JUNGLE RESTAURANT is a comedy about nostalgia, environmentalism, and eating at a novelty restaurant under a time constraint.
Peggy has the perfect place for dinner. Her band needs to grab some food before their gig, and what better place than Jungle Restaurant, the location of her favorite childhood memories? As the four band members (and one band member's dad) try to survive the jungle-themed hijinks, they must explore what it means to become an adult during a climate crisis and resist the urge to return to the primordial soup.

OPEN ROLES
ROMAN: Male, 18-28 yrs old. A drummer and a golden retriever and maybe something else.
HOT WAITER: Male, 18+ years old. A hot waiter. Singing experience preferred.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
PEGGY: A loyal friend and a loyal Jungle Restaurant fan
AVERY: A leader of bands and of everyone and everything
ROMAN: A drummer and a golden retriever and maybe something else
CJ: A bassist and a crystal girl
GREG: A do-gooder and CJ’s father
HOT WAITER: A hot waiter
OLD WAITER: An old waiter
BORED WAITER: A bored waiter

TIMELINE

Rehearsal Period: April 27-May 15 (Schedule TBD based on actor conflicts).
Tech: An 80-minute tech rehearsal on either May 12th, 13th, 14th between 12-5pm.
Performances: May 15 at 7pm, May 16 at 7pm, and May 17 at 5pm.
