The Broadway Teachers Workshop internship is unpaid, but it offers access to free training in theatre performance, production, and education with Broadway’s premier artists. Interns may attend on as many classes as they like and will be given free tickets to at least two of the four Broadway shows the participants see. This is an excellent opportunity to get an inside look at a wide range of careers in the professional and academic theatre worlds. Our interns often end up with further internship and job opportunities from the people they meet through our program. They also forge meaningful friendships with each other. Now in its 26th year, past guests include Lin Manuel Miranda, Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz, Patti LuPone, Billy Porter, Chita Rivera, Jonathan Groff, Lea Michele, Leslie Odom Jr. and more. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE assisting with registration, set up, ticketing and guest relations – both for high profile Broadway artists and participants, providing support and assistance wherever needed. Interns are key representatives of the organization, both for participants and Broadway guest artists, and are asked to dress in business casual clothing.
