OVERVIEW:

This internship offers a comprehensive experience on running a nonprofit performing arts organization. You’ll engage in diverse responsibilities, including project coordination, marketing, outreach, and fundraising support while providing accessible opportunities for emerging creatives in NYC.

This internship is a hybrid position, with most work occurring remotely with required in-person attendance during Amoeba Productions events and select meetings.

Required in-person dates include:
- June 28, 2026 (full day)
- August 28 - August 30, 2026 (afternoon and evening)
- September 23 - September 24 (in the evening)


There are two internship positions available: the Operations Intern and the Development Intern.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Intern:
- Offer direct assistance to Amoeba Productions during the duration of the internship
- Meet weekly with the Intern Supervisor to discuss action items and provide updates on tasks
- Monitor project progress and maintain financial records to provide update reports to the Managing Director
- Provide support for Amoeba’s Summer 2026 productions, fundraising events, social gatherings, and other programs with Amoeba’s Board of Directors
- Assist with miscellaneous marketing and administrative tasks

Development Intern:
- Offer direct assistance to Amoeba Productions during the duration of the internship
- Meet weekly with the Intern Supervisor to discuss action items and provide updates on tasks
- Research new funding sources, including government, corporate, and private foundation grants that align with theatre programming, educational outreach, and artistic initiatives.
- Collaborate with program and finance staff to prepare and submit interim and final grant reports, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines
- Assist with miscellaneous marketing and administrative tasks


RECOMMENDED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Current student or recent graduate (within 4 years) with a strong interest in performing arts, theatre, and supporting emerging artists
- Time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Effective team collaborator
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficient in the Google Workspace Applications (Google Documents, Google Sheets, Google Forms)
- Familiarity with Canva
