Queer ye, queer ye!... It's okay. We can workshop it.
For one night only on Friday, June 12th, 2026 at 9:30PM at the Green Room 42, come lay down your weapons, shed your armor, and entertain the whims of some of the queerest bards in all of the land for "HEATED CHIVALRY: a queer renaissance", a night of chimerical musical comedy reimagined by New York City's finest LGBTQ+ talent. Join this cast of emerging talents and industry veterans alike as they enliven the fantasy musical songbook with a fresh palette, weaving tales of medieval mayhem and romantic regality and charting a path across historical fiction and high fantasy alike, all while toying with the conventions of gender, sexuality, and self-expression within these numbers. Featuring performances of songs from the pages of "Into the Woods", "Camelot", "Shrek", "Something Rotten!", and more hit Broadway musicals, Heated Chivalry is dedicated to every monarch, knight, and jester who has had to fight for their place in their kingdom.

Fortunate Few Productions is seeking LGBTQ+ identifying musical theatre performers based in the New York City area for “HEATED CHIVALRY: a queer renaissance”, a night of medieval mayhem and raucous royalty aiming to paint the “fantasy musical theatre canon” with fresh, vibrant colors. "HEATED CHIVALRY: a queer renaissance" will be performed for one night only at the Green Room 42 on Friday, June 12th at 9:30PM EST, with Tommy Kelly (they/any) serving as artistic director and Sawyer Whitted (he/him) serving as music director.

We are seeking to assemble a company of queer-identifying musical theatre performers – that is, anyone who falls under the greater LGBTQ+ umbrella, regardless of how they specifically identify – who are interested in bringing some freshness to varyingly recognizable songs and characters from the "fantasy musical theatre canon". As of now, each performer will contribute to anywhere from two to four numbers throughout the show depending on where their interests lie, including at least one ensemble number – the show will also feature solos, duets, and trios that will be spread out as evenly amongst the performers as possible.

This is, for the moment, an unpaid performance opportunity consisting of three rehearsals throughout early June leading up to the performance. All performers will receive footage of their musical number(s) for free after the show closes so long as they share the show's marketing materials leading up to opening night!

Performers who wish to be considered for the cast of “HEATED CHIVALRY” are asked to submit a cut of a musical theatre song of their choice lasting no longer than two minutes to the Google Form in Fortunate Few’s bio no later than Sunday, May 3rd at 11:59PM EST.
