Job Title: Show Operator & Lighting Maintenance Technician
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview:
Emursive Productions, the producing company behind Sleep No More, Life & Trust, and Speakeasy Magick is seeking a Speakeasy Magick Show Operator and Lighting Maintenance Technician position. This role is responsible for operating Speakeasy Magick show systems both lighting and audio during live performances, as well as ensuring all lighting equipment in the building is properly maintained, safe, and functioning at optimal performance levels.
We are seeking someone who is reliable, a true self-starter, a multi-tasker, and someone able to prioritize responsibilities professionally to join our team. Candidates will demonstrate attention to detail, creative problem-solving skills, possess and exhibit empathy, and a track record of on-their-feet problem solving. Candidates must be proactive and possess clear communication skills and the ability to be a team player.

Lighting Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on lighting fixtures and control systems weekly, monthly, and biannually.
- Dimmer and channel checks.
- Identify and resolve lighting issues.
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of all lighting equipment in the building.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
- Complete and respond to all technical notes from show reports following each show shift as assigned by the management.
- Designing lighting skill is a plus but not necessary.
- Work with management to quickly and efficiently solve problems.
Report to the General Manager.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and regulations.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and proper electrical safety protocols.
- Assist with rigging inspections and ensure safe installation of lighting equipment.
Others:
- Support technical rehearsals and system testing.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve show quality and reliability.
- Maintaining and organizing all working spaces.
- Other duties as assigned by the management.
Qualifications:
- Associate of Arts or BFA in Technical Theatre or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in a variety of theatrical lighting control systems, experience with ETC Ion preferred
- Ability to read stage lighting plots, magic sheets, and system flow diagrams- Familiarity with audio mixers, or a willingness to learn.
- Experience with Qlab preferred, working with and taking calls from stage management
- Light lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of supplies, etc., up to 50 lbs., as well as occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
- Ability to work at heights on ladders.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment with a fast paced setting.
- Demonstrate strong collaborative, communication, and technical skills
- Demonstrate a strong sense of self-sufficiency and organization when working under pressure, time constraints, dim lighting, show volume, and in view of audience members.

Rate: $1000 / week

- Daytime work for maintenance, improvement, and new projects (about 9 hours / week)
- Show Operator for minimum 5 shows including one double show day.
*Speakeasy Magick runs from Tuesday through Sunday.
