Hi - my name is Adina Taubman, I’m the Artistic Director of Chrysalis Theatre Company. I founded the company in 2012, and over the years we have produced devised works, solo shows and theater festivals.

The company is dedicated to the development of new plays about important social issues that entertain and spark a dialogue, which hopefully leads to action. We strive to create theater that is a transformative experience for our audiences.

On the heels of She Takes Flight, a devised ensemble piece that focused on the lives of middle aged women and autobiographical stories of our five ensemble members, Chrysalis is excited to turn our focus to the topic of “women and activism” for this next production.

We are looking for artists who have experience both as actors and writers - maybe devising your own work (via solo show) or as part of a larger ensemble piece. As a company, we want to highlight/celebrate the stories/voices of women who are 35+, and from a wide variety of backgrounds and communities.

Weekly writing sessions will be held on Thursday evenings, at a rehearsal studio in midtown Manhattan.

At present, we are thinking about a development/writing schedule that would begin meeting weekly in April.

Our goal is to produce a staged reading/invited workshop in late Fall of 2026. (Theater/Venue TBD)
