Musical Theater DIRECTOR/CHOREOGRAPHER & MUSIC DIRECTOR WANTED and please forward as you see fit, if you know someone:


We are in the interview stages for a director and a music director for our spring high school musical at the Trevor Day School 312 E95th St between 1st/2nd Aves just off Q train last stop. If you are interested in or know someone interested in working 3:30-6p weekdays or 10-6p select weekends with us on this production February through early May 2026, please let us know. Schedule can be negotiated in coordination with the Music Director. We are planning to hire soon (virtual interviews immediately in mid-January), hold a virtual pre-production meeting, and then audition in February.


Schedule roughly is as follows:

  • Auditions Wednesday 2/11 - Thursday 2/12 and read thru and rehearsals begin Wednesday 2/18.
  • Rehearsals as of 2/19/26 Monday - Friday 3:45-6p.
  • Weekend rehearsals as needed, including the following: 4/11, 4/18, 4/25 or 4/26.
  • TECH - Cast must be avail. 4/25-5/8 and PERFORMANCES 5/4 and 5/5 Show Go by 4:15p, W 5/6 (we might do 2:30p show instead of 7p Go Wed.), TH 5/7, F 5/8 Show Go at 7p.

We will reveal the musical show selection soon and have an excited group of returning and new students in the cast and the crew of high schoolers. Choreography is movement-based created and taught by the director. Director and Music Directors may interview as a team or as separate job posts. There will likely be students interested in being dance captain, assistant directors, stage managers, and designers, which we will be coordinating in house.

There is time to discuss details in the interview. Please come to the interview with ideas about collaborating with students on the production team and in our small pitband, as well as samples of your work in musical theatre for ages 14 - 22.
