CONTRACT AFFAIRS REPRESENTATIVE
The national labor union, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), seeks a Contract Affairs Representative to join our dynamic Contract Affairs Department.
The Contract Affairs Representative is a member of the Contract Affairs Department and reports directly to the Director of Contract Affairs. Representative is responsible for organizing initiatives in order to expand SDC jurisdiction as well as administering, processing, and enforcing the minimum terms of collectively bargained and promulgated agreements within their respective jurisdictions as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of the entertainment industry required; experience in labor management preferred; proven ability to work closely with a team and effectively manage individual workload; excellent written and communication skills; ability to listen actively and frame issues with clarity; ability to assess information and evidence and deal with conflicting/changing priorities; ability to think strategically and exercise a high level of judgment; willingness to participate in all union wide activities; computer literate.
Responsibilities:
• negotiate collectively bargained and single employer agreements
• identify and execute organizing opportunities
• develop and maintain strategic relationships with Members, employers, and key industry professionals
• represent our Membership during employment conflicts utilizing negotiation, grievance, and arbitration processes as appropriate
• administer, process, and enforce all the terms of individual employment contracts
• assume a mastery of all collectively bargained and promulgated agreements
• participate in the development and execution of all department wide goals and objectives
• participate in community, political, and union events
The salary range is $65,000-$70,000. SDC also offers excellent benefits to include comprehensive health/life insurance, retirement programs (defined benefit pension as well as 401k), paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation.
