The Orchard Project is seeking a Company Manager to join us for our 2026 Performance Lab and summer season in Saratoga Springs, NY. This is a seasonal, full-time, in-residence role supporting artists and staff during one of OP’s core residency programs.
The Orchard Project (OP) is a leading artistic development organization supporting playwrights, composers, screenwriters, and generative artists working across theatre, audio, and episodic storytelling. With year-round programming and a nationally recognized summer residency in Saratoga Springs, OP serves hundreds of artists annually and acts as an incubator for new work that moves fluidly between nonprofit and commercial pathways. OP’s programs emphasize rigorous artistic development, deep artist relationships, and long-term sustainability for creators.
This is a seasonal, W-2, non-exempt position.
Compensation:
$25/hour for remote pre- and post-season work
$1,200/week during the in-residence period in Saratoga Springs
Overtime paid in accordance with New York State labor law
Additional Benefits:

In-residence period: June 14 – July 12, 2026
This position includes part-time remote work in advance of the residency (approximately 15–20 hours per week), followed by a full-time, high-intensity in-residence period in Saratoga Springs. During the residency, extended hours typical of summer arts programs should be expected; a regular day off is provided each week.
The Company Manager will be required to live in residence at Skidmore College during the residency period. Housing, meals, and travel reimbursement are provided.
The Company Manager partners closely with the Producing Director and Associate Producer to support the daily needs of artists and staff. OP works with a wide range of artists, each with distinct needs; flexibility, patience, and resourcefulness are essential.
Draft and update housing allocations and room assignments
Coordinate artist travel to and from Saratoga Springs
Prepare and maintain bedroom and housing setups throughout the season
Coordinate housing unit turnovers and logistics
Communicate cleaning and repair needs with Skidmore College
Coordinate special events for artists and staff, including weekly communal meals and at least one additional gathering per week
Manage communal supplies (e.g., cleaning items, household essentials)
Occasionally assist with light cleaning and room turnovers
Coordinate local transportation logistics for artists and staff
Share resources for day-to-day living (food options, medical services, postal and laundry services, local transportation, etc.)
Lead train station pickups between Saratoga Springs and Skidmore campus (approximately 5-minute drive)
On an as-needed basis, support other OP residency programs with production, rehearsal, or sharing logistics
Prior experience in hospitality, artist relations, producing, arts administration, and/or event management preferred
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to live in residence at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY for the duration of the residency
Ability to lift items weighing up to approximately 30 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to creatively problem-solve in a wide range of situations, including readings, workshops, and live events
Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced, artist-centered summer residency environment
