Rain will air March 19 at 10 PM and March 20 at 7:30 PM. WLIW21 previously presented the 90-minute concerts special late last summer and fall.
Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles began its extended Broadway engagement Oct. 19, 2010, at the Neil Simon Theatre. It went on a brief winter hiatus and resumed performances Feb. 8, 2011, at the Brooks Atkinson. The engagement is scheduled through May 29.
In Rain, vocalists, musicians and entertainers Joey Curatolo, Joe Bithorn, Joe Bologna and David Leon perform the Beatles' hits live on stage and recreate the numerous iconic looks made famous by the rock band.
According to producers, "From the early days of their appearance on 'The Ed Sullivan Show' in 1964 through Sgt. Pepper and on to the Abbey Road years, Rain performs it all. The multi-media concert recaptures the era through all phases of The Beatles astounding musical career including Shea Stadium, the psychedelic late 60s and The Beatles long-haired hippie, hard-rocking rooftop days. A fusion of historical footage and hilarious television commercials lights up video screens and live cameras zoom in for close-ups."
Certain performances of Rain also features Graham Alexander, Doug Cox, Jim Irizarry, Jimmy Pou, Mac Ruffing and Tom Teeley. Rain is presented on Broadway by Annerin Productions; MagicSpace Entertainment; Nederlander Presentations, Inc; Sony/ATV and RAIN.
