Noah Galvin, who steps into the title role in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway November 21, was a guest on MTV’s Total Request Live (TRL) to chat about his newest role and the kind of lifestyle changes he’s been making in preparation. Watch his interview with host DC Young Fly in the video above.
Galvin, who is making his Broadway debut, succeeds Tony winner Ben Platt, who created the role and played his final performance November 19. Galvin has been shadowing the original Evan Hansen for some time in the lead up to his first Broadway performance.
Best known for his role on ABC's The Real O’Neals, Galvin has also appeared in Off-Broadway productions at New York’s Signature Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, MCC, The Vineyard, The Public, The Culture Project, The Flea, The Wild Project, New York Theater Workshop, the Barrow Street Theater, Rattlestick, Ensemble Studio Theater, and more. He appeared in the world premiere of Ace, directed by Stafford Arima, at the Cincinnati Playhouse in 2006. In 2010, he originated the role of Dustyin Playwrights Horizons’ production of The Burnt Part Boys.
Taylor Trensch, currently starring on Broadway in Hello, Dolly!, will be Broadway's Evan Hansen starting in mid-January 2018.
