Grande, who got her first big break playing Charlotte in Brown's short-lived 2008 Broadway musical 13, sang two songs from the score: "The Lamest Place in the World" as a solo, and "Brand New You" as a duet with Bean.
Audiences had come to hear tunes from Brown's recent musicals The Bridges of Madison County and Honeymoon in Vegas, plus new songs from his forthcoming CD as well as classics from Songs for a New World, Parade, The Last 5 Years and more.
The national tour of Brown's The Bridges of Madison County plays the Ahmanson Theatre in L.A. through Jan. 17.
