Film & TV News Watch Ana Gasteyer Pay Tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber in Sneak Peak of New The Goldbergs The Broadway notable dons a coat of many colors to sing a selection from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in this exclusive clip.

On the March 28 episode of ABC’s comedy The Goldbergs, the long-running sitcom will pay tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber in honor of his 70th birthday March 22.

During the past five years on air, the show, based on show creator and executive producer Adam F. Goldberg’s childhood in 1980s suburban Philadelphia, has featured Lloyd Webber’s Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Starlight Express, and Phantom of the Opera.

The upcoming episode, “Colors,” follows the story of how the youngest Goldberg’s drama teacher, played by Broadway veteran Ana Gasteyer, created an elaborate production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The exclusive clip above shows the finale of the episode, with Gasteyer singing the signature “Any Dream Will Do.”

“Growing up, I was a bona fide theatre geek and still have my Playbill collection from every musical I went to see at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia,” says Executive Producer Adam F. Goldberg. “My favorite musicals from my childhood were always the Andrew Lloyd Webber spectacles. I was a superfan, collecting rare CDs of his work and making mixtapes of his show tunes.

“Each season I do several big event episodes about the people who inspired me most when I was growing up in Jenkintown,” he continues. “There is a reason Andrew Lloyd Webber has been mentioned on my show dozens of times. He’s a true master of his craft and inspired me to become a writer.”

The episode is produced by Adam F. Goldberg Productions, Doug Robinson Productions, and Happy Madison in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Tune in to The Goldbergs March 28 at 8PM ET on ABC for the theatre-themed episode.
