Walking through the Tucker Square Greenmarket, Mean Girls’ Ashley Park is a vision in pink. For the California-born, Michigan-bred actor, returning to the farmers market is a little taste of home, a tradition she developed with her family.
“The farmer’s market every Saturday morning is something I grew up with,” Park says. “It makes me feel like I’m not in a huge city.”
While she may not be home in Michigan, the actor has made another home for herself at Mean Girls, the acclaimed musical adaptation of Tina Fey’s 2004 film, where Park gives a high energy, Tony-nominated performance eight shows a week. “Our show is so, so fun. It’s all my friends and people my age, and we’re having the best time! I thrive in the summer. I am a lot happier and lighter. I think everyone is!”
