Alex Lacamoire, who won his third Tony Award earlier this year for his orchestrations for Dear Evan Hansen, has been tapped for the upcoming movie musical The Greatest Showman. The Grammy winner will serve as executive music producer for the 20th Century Fox title, according to Variety.
This marks a reunion for Lacamoire and Tony and Oscar winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul; the composing duo behind Dear Evan Hansen have also penned an original score for the movie.
Lacamoire won a Tony last year for Hamilton and in 2008 for In the Heights; his additional Broadway credits include arrangements for Annie, 9 to 5, and Legally Blonde.
The Greatest Showman stars Tony winner Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum; the cast also includes Tony nominees Keala Settle and Michelle Williams, Zendaya, Zac Efron, and Rebecca Ferguson. It is set to premiere in movie theatres Christmas Day.
A portion of the proceeds from the concert will benefit the Entertainment Community Fund's Women's Health Initiative, founded by the late Phyllis Newman.
Named for one of the greatest dance icons in American theatre history, the Chita Rivera Awards honor dancers and choreographers throughout the theatre industry.
The film purports to examine the Chicago Outfit’s alleged involvement in the JFK assassination, drawing directly from firsthand accounts and insights from the family of crime boss Sam Giancana.
