McKay will play the intimate club, located within the Public Theater, at 11:30 PM. An encore performance is scheduled for Aug. 22. The evenings will feature songs from McKay's new CD, "Obligatory Villagers," which is scheduled for a Sept. 25 release on the Hungry Mouse label. A follow-up to her 2006 disc "Pretty Little Head," the new recording features jazz greats Phil Woods, David Liebman and Bob Dorough.

Nellie McKay is a performer, songwriter and activist. She scored the movie musical "The Amazing True Story of a Teenage Single Mom" and won a Theatre World Award for her Broadway bow in Threepenny Opera.
