The series will feature three Script in Hand Performances at the Players Club.

Beginning with Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream on September 19, the Resident Acting Company will be presenting three Script in Hand Performances at New York City’s Players Club for its Fall 2022 Benefit Series.

The lineup also includes Sonnets for an Old Century, written and directed by Oscar nominee José Rivera, October 17; and Macbeth November 21. Casting for the performances will be announced at a later date.

Following the performance of Sonnets for an Old Century, Rivera will host a talkback. His credits include The Motorcycle Diaries, which earned him an Oscar nomination; as well as Eerie, Indiana; Penny Dreadful: City of Angels; and the upcoming Netflix series based on the novel One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez.

Following January 23, the Resident Acting Company will also hold the RAC Poetry Smack Down Party benefit event at the The Players Club. The Fall 2022 Benefit Series and the Poetry Smack Down Party are meant to raise enough funds to mount a full production in the future. The Players Club, a private club founded in 1888, will be open to all ticket holders for these events.
