The White Plains Performing Arts Center production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame plays the New York venue December 22–January 14, 2018. Frank Portanova directs, with musical direction by Stephen Ferri and choreography by Lexie Fennell Frare.
The cast is led by Bobby Cassell as Quasimodo with Matthew Billman as Captain Phoebus de Martin, David Thomas Cronin as Saint Aphrodisius, Jenna Dallacco as Esmeralda, Jarrad Biron Green as Clopin Trouillefou, Chris Guzman as Lieutenant Frederic Charlus, Katelyn Lauria as Madam, Dustin Harris Smith as Jehan Frollo, James Smith as Father Dupin, Cecilia Snow as Florika, and James Zannelli as Dom Claude Frollo.
Rounding out the company are Anna Baker, Melanie Burg, Joey Nelan, Rebecca Skowron, Anna Laura Strider, and Esteban Suero.
From the Oscar-winning team of Alan Menken (Aladdin, The Little Mermaid) and Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) comes the stage adaptation of Disney's Oscar-nominated retelling of Victor Hugo’s story of love, acceptance, and what it means to be a hero. Hunchback features music by Menken, lyrics by Schwartz, and a book by Peter Parnell.
A stage adaptation of the 1996 animated film first premiered in Germany in 1999, with a new English-language production premiering at San Diego's La Jolla Playhouse in 2014 followed by a run at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse the following year.
The limited engagement also has scenic design by Christopher and Justin Swader, lighting design by Jamie Roderick, choir direction by Tom Cuffari, and stage management by Jessie Jardon.
