Broadway News The Ensemblist Examines Authenticity on Social Media With Actors From Dear Evan Hansen, Mean Girls, Be More Chill, and The Cher Show The newly launched podcast Doubletapped explores social media's impact on the personal and professional lives of Broadway performers.

The Ensemblist, the theatrical podcast and blog dedicated to the experiences of Broadway’s ensemble members, has launched Doubletapped, a new interview series examining the rapidly evolving landscape of social media and its impact on Broadway professionals.

WHAT’S NEW WITH BROADWAY’S ORIGINAL PODCAST: THE ENSEMBLIST

Hosted by Ensemblist creator Mo Brady, Doubletapped features one-on-one interviews with Broadway actors discussing the effect social media has had on their professional and personal lives. From connecting with fans, to creating a brand, balancing “thirstraps” and “finstagrams,” Doubletapped addresses how Broadway professionals define what it means to represent "authenticity" on social media platforms.

“I think in any form of media - whether it be movies, TV or online, we as viewers gravitate towards people that feel authentic,” Brady said in a statement. “But when you’re sharing yourself online, are you really and truly being yourself? Or is what you share a curated version of you? Are there parts of you that change and mold online? What parts do you choose to share? And what parts do you leave out of the picture?”

The first four episodes, which are now available on TheEnsemblist.com, feature Gerard Canonico (Be More Chill), Olivia Puckett (Dear Evan Hansen), Kamille Upshaw (Mean Girls), and Charlie Williams (The Cher Show).
