Awards The Antonyo Awards Will Return in 2022

The ceremony celebrating Black theatremakers will announce nominations later this month.

The Antonyo Awards are back!

Organized by Broadway Black, the Antonyos honor Black theatremakers. Winners from the inaugural 2019-2020 season include Adrienne Warren (Tina), Michael R. Jackson (A Strange Loop), Camille A. Brown (for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf), and Chuck Cooper (Trouble in MindThe LifeChoir Boy), who received the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 2022 Antonyos will honor theatremakers from the 2021-2022 season. Nominations will be released at a private event June 20 at 5 PM ET. The event will also be livestreamed.
