Historian Howard Zinn's Marx in Soho will make its Southeastern premiere Jan. 13-30 at Tampa's Gorilla Theatre. Aubrey Hampton (Mixed Blood, Christmas Trio) directs. Written as more than an exploration of Marxism, Marx In Soho looks at the private man who struggled to raise his children and support his wife while not compromising his own beliefs. Steven Clark Pachosa stars as Marx in the solo show.
Zinn, best known as author of "A People's History of the United States," is a professor emeritus at Boston University and a recipient of the Eugene V. Debs and Lannan Foundation Awards. He will attend the Jan. 16 show and participate in a talk back following the performance.
Tickets are $15 and are available by calling (813) 879-2914. The Gorilla Theatre is located at 4419 N. Hubert Avenue.
