Presented Feb. 4-22, 2013, at the 20,000-acre working cattle ranch in Wyoming, the retreat is overseen by artistic director Philip Himberg.
"Our Playwrights Retreat at Ucross Foundation is the only program of its kind specifically dedicated to the germinative stage of a play's life. It provides writers and composers the opportunity needed to focus on and refine the earliest vision of a new work, within the supportive community of theatrical artist peers," Himberg said in a statement.
Composer-librettist-playwright LaChiusa (Giant, Marie Christine, Hello Again, See What I Wanna See), director-playwright Wadsworth (A Quiet Place, Master Class) and Blank (HappyFlowerNail) will be joined by Fernanda Coppel (Chimichangas and Zoloft), Joy Harjo (Wings of Night Sky, Wings of Morning Light), Justin Levine (Bonfire Night) and Matthew Paul Olmos (A Brave Woman in Mexico, so go the ghosts of méxico).
Sundance also revealed that Tony Award nominee Colman Domingo (Wild With Happy, The Scottsboro Boys) will direct the Ucross development of Blank's new work. Christopher Hibma serves as the producing director of the retreat.
