Hi Playbill! Welcome to Williamstown! We are in the middle of tech for a new musical called A Legendary Romance, so I am running on iced coffee and the candy that I have been stealing from the various tech tables.
Yes, this is what Williamstown looks like! To be fair it was at a party, and yes, I took it three days ago, but I really wanted to start this “Day in the Life” right, and make everyone incredibly jealous. It is so beautiful up here, I could throw up!
Good morning. Leaving to go to the theater...This is the house I live in! I mean have you seen anything so cute? But just so you are all aware, I am sleeping on an extra twin mattress because it is a college campus we are on, so let’s just stick with the cute exterior shot.
On my way to tech, I say hey to all my friends...
I like my wig caps tight enough that it’s like I got Botox but I really didn’t... beauty with NO pain is my motto. (PS I used the beauty filter on Instagram, just so we are all clear)
This is Team Lora Lee...Starting top left and moving clockwise, we have Susie, Charlie, Mitchel and Naomi. We do five REALLY fast quick changes in the first 10 minutes of the show, so you could say we’ve gotten pretty close pretty fast.
Billie Hathaway waiting in the wings deciding which filter looks best for the selfie she just took. FYI Billie was born 1928 or so, and it is currently 1954, so she has no idea what a selfie is or a filter for a selfie.
Dinner time so I’m heading to Spring Street. Spring Street is THE place to be in Williamstown, it’s the only place to be. I say that in a very loving way... this small, little town is the cutest.
Pass another one of my friends! (Is that not the creepiest mannequin you’ve ever seen?)
Going to Pappa Charlie’s which is this amazing sandwich place that names all of its sandwiches after different alumni of Willamstown. My fave is the Blythe Danner.
Back at tech and back with the boys...being the only girl is VERY difficult...(it’s the BEST)
Come see these earrings AND A Legendary Romance August 3-20 at Williamstown Theatre Festival, directed by the incomparable Lonny Price, with music by Geoff Morrow and book by Timothy Prager. People have told me for years how magical Williamstown is and getting to work here is truly, truly magical.
In A Legendary Romance, Jeff McCarthy stars as film producer Joe Lindy, who, in 1950, was on top of the world, making hit movies with his lover and leading lady Billie Hathaway (played by Lora Lee Gayer). Some four decades later, a young producer digs up Lindy’s abandoned film—an autobiographical cinematic masterpiece—and edits it in such a way that Lindy must go back and reconstruct the moivve, and his life, in order to confront the choices that haunt him.
