Starting September 27, the ZACH Theatre in Austin, Texas, kicks off its 85th anniversary season with a production of Singin’ in the Rain.
Made famous by Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, and Donald O’Connor on screen, the musical is a love letter to the Golden Age of Hollywood as cinema star Don Lockwood must transition from silent films to the talkies.
The ZACH Theatre production is directed by Abe Reybold with choreography by Dominique Kelley and music direction by Allen Robertson. Michelle Ney provides the scenic design with costume design by Brandon McWilliams, lighting design by Matthew Webb, hair and makeup by Serret Jensen, properties design by Steve Baglio, and sound design by Craig Brock.
The cast features Luke Hawkins as Don Lockwood, Sasha Hutchings as Kathy Selden, Blake Spellacy as Cosmo Brown, and Keri Safran as Lina Lamont. The cast also includes Colum Parke Morgan, Erik Mathew, Gray Randolph, Michelle Alexander, Jessica O’Briend, Sara Burke, Michael Reyna, Christa Oliver, Nathan Garland, Chris Barfield, Jeff Jordan, Seth Marstrand, Jackie Strubberg, William Harris, Anna McGuire, Stefanie Renee Salyers, Alaina Vi Maderal, Thomas Morelli, Bruce Bowen, Ryan Gu, Cameron Redwine, Keaton Brandt, Gracee Street, Toby Minor, Brandon Sterrett, and T.W. Scott.
