The show is co-written with Bridget Everett, the downtown singer-songwriter, and Kenny Mellman, Herb of the duo Kiki and Herb. It has music and lyrics by Mellman and Everett. According to a release, the "trashy little show" is "about New York City life through the eyes of a girl from Manhattan, Kansas, who's never afraid to tell it like it is." Press opening is Jan. 25.

King won Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for "Sex and the City." He was also co-creator, writer, director and executive producer of the HBO series "The Comeback," starring Lisa Kudrow. King has also written for "Murphy Brown" and "Will & Grace." He started his career as a playwright and standup comic.
