Casting is complete for the National Theatre and Complicité co-production of Simon McBurney's Mnemonic, which will play the National's Olivier June 22–August 10.

McBurney (Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, The Encounter) will also direct his play, which was first seen 25 years ago. Opening night is set for July 2.

Joining original cast members Richard Katz, Kostas Philippoglou, and Tim McMullan will be Khalid Abdalla (The Crown), Thomas Arnold (Oslo), Laurenz Laufenberg (Beware of Pity), Hisham Abdel Razek (The Play That Goes Wrong), Sarah Slimani (Grenfell: In the Words of Survivors), Sophie Steer (Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead), Eileen Walsh (The Crucible), and Arthur Wilson (Force Majeure).

In Mnemonic, a body is found in the ice, and a woman is looking for her father while a man searches for his lost lover. The play, according to press notes, is "as much about origins as it is about memory and remembering what is lost."

The production will also have set design by Michael Levine, costume design by Christina Cunningham, lighting design by Paul Anderson, sound design by Christopher Shutt, video design by Roland Horvath for rocafilm, and casting by Alastair Coomer.
