Tony-winning director Alex Timbers received his spot on the famed wall of caricatures at Sardi's Restaurant July 20.
Timbers won the 2021 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for Moulin Rouge!, which won 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical and continues its hit run on Broadway. He is also currently represented on Broadway by another hit musical, Beetlejuice, which received 8 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.
His extensive theatre credits include David Byrne’s American Utopia, Disney's Peter and the Starcatcher, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Rocky: The Musical, David Byrne & Fatboy Slim’s Here Lies Love, The Pee-Wee Herman Show, Shakespeare in the Park's Love's Labour's Lost, and Oh, Hello.
