Think baseball cards, but with Broadway stars, but instead of photographed, the performers are illustrated by artist Justin “Squigs” Robertston. Got it? You're thinking of The Lights of Broadway Showcards.

The 2021 edition of the collectable cards from producer Dori Berinstein and creator Robertston are out now, featuring 129 new cards adorned with vibrant illustrations of Broadway’s brightest personalities, Broadway and Off-Broadway shows past and present, historic theatres, iconic opening numbers, and more.

Launched in summer 2015, The Lights of Broadway Showcards has now released 12 editions of the cards, garnering a nationwide fan base that enjoys trading cards (sold in packs of 5) to complete their sets. In addition to the core set of cards, the 2021 edition also includes four new additions to the Giving Back program, featuring limited and numbered celebrity-signed cards each highlighting a different charity. That lineup includes Ashley Park supporting Broadway Advocacy Coalition, Eva Noblezada and Reeve Carney signing for Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Jennifer Simard and Christopher Sieber for Darkness Rising, and Rob McClure for Spread Ari’s Light.

"After such a long period of darkness in theatres around the world, it feels like such a celebration as Broadway stage lights are glowing and curtains are rising once again!" says Robertson in a statement. "In this 2021 Edition—dubbed the 'Curtain Up! Light the Lights! Edition' by our collectors—we herald the return of gathering together for shared stories and new possibilities."

“We're so excited to get this special edition out into the world. Squig's work is truly breathtaking. It's a beautiful celebration of all things theatre,” adds Berinstein.

To celebrate the release, Broadway stars featured on the cards gathered for a photoshoot to be captured bursting through a giant blow up of their card. Check out the gallery of fun photos below, with participants including Rob McClure, Matt Doyle, Joe Iconis, T. Oliver Reid, Christopher Sieber, Jennifer Simard, Lucy Moss, Toby Marlow, Cody Renard Richard, James Monroe Iglehart, and J. Harrison Ghee.
